Use the five value scale and drawing principles of light and shadow to create the illusion of three dimension on the basic geometric shapes: cubes, boxes, cylinders, cones, and spheres.
Use shading techniques with graphite, charcoal, and ink.
Assignments
Plan on spending 1 day (2 hours) per exercise.
Assignment 1: Draw three 5 Value Scales, one in ink, one charcoal, and one in graphite. Due Thursday.
Assignmnt 2–5: Use the step-by-step examples to complete drawings for a cone, cylinder, sphere, and cube. Note: turn in just the finished drawing not individual steps. Due Thursday.
Assignment 6: Shade a shape of your choice. Due Monday.
Assignment 7: Label the areas of light on the shaded drawing. Due Monday.
