Assignment 2 : Construction Drawing from Life

Now that you have created your thumbnails and selected your top two, you to do a finished drawing. Using plumb lines, measuring and looking at positive and negative space becomes even more essential to the drawing process. Line variation (thick and thin, dark and light, hard and soft) will make your drawing more interesting.

 

Specifications

Subject matter:

  • Assignment 1 Step 2: Choose one of your thumbnails and create your very best 9"x12" finished construction drawing Remember that Construction Drawings do not have any shading, and you can see all of the planes - as if you could see "through" the object. Scan and submit as usual. (30 points)

    Although you have not drawn the object from a photo, take a picture of your object from the angle that you drew it so that your Instructor can adequately critique your work. Make certain to include your photo when you post your Assignment.

    You will be graded on your choice of position, accurate proportion and perspective, and effective use of line weight for variation interest and focal points.

Size: 9"x12"

Media: Graphite or Charcoal.

Deadlines

Post completed drawings by Monday 11:59 PM: Scan in and submit your completed drawing to the discussion board. Don't forget to include the photo referred to above. I will provide feedback and a grade for each of your drawings.
