Step 1, turn your sketchbook length-wise and 1.5 inches from the top, indicate the eye level (EL) by drawing a horizontal line across the format—approximately 1 inch from the edge of the format. |

Step 17, indicate the ground measuring line (GML) by drawing a horizontal line approximately 1.5 inches below the eye level. Note: This line can be anywhere (left/right) of the LS as long as it is within the cone of vision. For this example, the GML intersects the LS. |
