Project 4 Step 3 Part 2

I called these mastheads in the last video. Header is another common term. Masthead is usually used to describe the top of a newsletter or magazine. So, those terms are kind of interchangeable, but, more commonly on the web, it would be called a header.

Now, we want to begin working on our website. You should have the mastheads complete at this point. Now, we’re going to open our document ‘template 1’ and save it as ‘template 2.’ Click ‘File’ in the menu bar, then ‘Save As’ and rename the document ‘template 2.’ One reason we do this is to keep track of the different stages of this process. We want to keep the original template document the way that it is.

To start off, we’re going to insert the header that we like best of all the ones we’ve made here. To do that, we click ‘File’ > ‘Place’ > then the file name of our best header. It should be exactly the right size, because we created that file in Illustrator.
